…is feminism.

As you may or may not know, being a feminist in South Dakota isn’t easy. We face glass ceilings and brick walls not only in our everyday lives, but in our politics as well. This is the place where, in 2006, anti-choice proponents launched an effort to eliminate the right to abortion statewide.

And they’re at it again.

While we red state feminists may be underground or few and far between, it’s high time that the world be reminded that we DO exist and we ARE a force to be reckoned with.

So, this is a place for you to follow what’s going on in SD until election day 2008, when we’ll have the chance to strike down a similar draconian proposition once again.

Besides updates on the newest SD abortion ban, you can follow the work of dedicated feminists at South Dakota State University. These women integrate active feminism into their everyday lives, working locally to effect women’s lives here, there, and everywhere. And when they come together, great things happen in the name of feminism.

So look out world, we’re out to reclaim the “F” in feminism!
